Adding an Accent Shape

Accent shapes are areas of material that are typically used in brick and patio designs. Accent shapes may be placed over bare terrain, regions, patios, pool decking, swimming pool bottoms, and decks. Accent shapes have no height or elevation as they are intended to integrate with the surface they are placed upon.

To add an accent shape:

1.   From the Building tab, click Add Accent Shape.

2.   Draw the outline of the accent shape by clicking the left mouse button to add points. Press the Backspace key to remove the last point added, and press the Esc key to cancel. If you would like to input the distance and angle manually, place at least one point and then press Enter.

3.   To finish drawing the accent shape, place the last point on top of the first point. Or right-click to place the last point; it will automatically connect to the first point.

The design below uses accent shapes to create the wood inlays.

Tips:

Using the grid snap feature can make adding an accurate Accent Shape very easy. See Snap Settings for more details.

If you need an area of material that has height, you should consider using the Patio object instead.
