Adding a Downspout

Enhance the realism of your home designs by adding downspouts. These can be easily placed, and automatically connect to the nearest gutter and extend seamlessly to the ground.

To add a Downspout:

1. Switch to the Perspective view (not required but recommended).
2. Adjust your view until you can clearly see the wall or roof of the house you want to add the detail to.
3. From the Building tab, click Add Downspout.
4. Click the gutter where you want to add a downspout. Hold Ctrl while clicking to add more than one.

Tips:

• Downspouts use the color and style of the gutter they are attached to.
• Use the Attach to adjacent gutter option when you want the downspout to attach to the gutter of one wall while routing down another.
• (Architect) Downspouts do not appear in the Plan view when displaying the house as a floorplan.
• Downspouts can only be attached to houses, and cannot be moved to another house once it has been added.
