Cut, Copy, & Paste
The Cut, Copy, and Paste tools make it easy to duplicate single objects or entire portions of your landscape design. When objects are cut or copied, they are added to the clipboard, which is a hidden part of Windows that stores cut and copied items until you are ready to paste them. You can even cut or copy objects in one landscape design and paste them into another.
To copy objects to the clipboard and delete them from the landscape:
- Click the object you want to cut to select it. To select more than one object, hold the Shift key while clicking on additional objects.
- From the Edit menu, select Cut. Or press Ctrl + X.
To copy objects to the clipboard:
- Click the object you want to copy to select it. To select more than one object, hold the Shift key while clicking on additional objects.
- From the Edit menu, select Copy. Or press Ctrl + C.
To paste objects from the clipboard:
- From the Edit menu, select Paste. Or press Ctrl+V. The pasted objects will be moved slightly away from the originals to make them easier to select, and the Move tool will be automatically activated.
To paste objects from the clipboard without offsetting:
- To paste objects directly on top of the originals, from the Edit menu, select Paste in Place. Or press Ctrl + Shift + V. The pasted objects will be automatically selected.
