Deck Stairs Properties

Options
Total width	Total stair width.
Max rise	Maximum vertical distance between steps. This distance can vary depending on the number of steps and the tread run.
Run	Length of each step. When adding curved stairs, this is the length of the step at the walk line.
Auto-calculate height	Add as many steps as needed until the stairs reach the ground. Uncheck this option to set the height manually. Note: When creating multilevel decks, this option should be unchecked for all levels above the bottom level.
Total height	Total distance from the bottom step to the surface of the deck that the stairs are attached to.
Left railing	Add a handrail to the left side of the stairs.
Right railing	Add a handrail to the right side of the stairs.
Use solid stringers	Use a solid board for the stringers. Uncheck to use stepped stringers.
Add skirting	Add skirting between the ground and the bottom of the deck stairs frame. Skirting will only appear if the deck also has skirting enabled.

Curved Stairs
Add curved stairs	Add curved stairs. Uncheck to add straight stairs.
Reverse curve direction	Reverses which direction the stairs curve.
Curve radius	Distance from the stair's inner curve to its center of rotation.
Walk line	Distance where the tread size matches the Run property. This helps ensure the treads have adequate depth where people naturally walk.

Tread
Use same material as deck	Use the same material for the treads as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the treads.
Hide gaps between boards	Many deck materials have two versions, one with a built-in gap between boards, and one without. By default, deck stairs use the version with gaps to simulate the gap between boards. Check this option to use the version without the gaps.
Add round nosing	Add round nosing to the front edge of each step. Uncheck this option for square nosing.

Riser
Use same material as deck	Use the same material for the risers as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the risers.

Stringer
Use same material as deck	Use the same material for the stringers as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the stringers.

Information
Calculated rise	Calculate rise of each step based on the number of steps and tread run.
Number of steps	Number of steps used in the stairs.
