Total width |
Total stair width. |
Max rise |
Maximum vertical distance between steps. This distance can vary depending on the number of steps and the tread run. |
Tread run |
Length of each step. |
Auto-calculate height |
Add as many steps as needed until the stairs reach the ground. Uncheck this option to set the height manually. Note: When creating multilevel decks, this option should be unchecked for all levels above the bottom level. |
Total height |
Total distance from the bottom step to the surface of the deck that the stairs are attached to. |
Left railing |
Add a handrail to the left side of the stairs. |
Right railing |
Add a handrail to the right side of the stairs. |
Add skirting |
Add skirting between the ground and the bottom of the deck stairs frame. Skirting will only appear if the deck also has skirting enabled. |
Add round nosing |
Add round nosing to the front edge of each step. Uncheck this option for square nosing. |
Tread |

Use same material as deck |
Use the same material for the treads as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the treads. |
Hide gaps between boards |
Many deck materials have two versions, one with a built-in gap between boards, and one without. By default, deck stairs use the version with gaps to simulate the gap between boards. Check this option to use the version without the gaps. |
Riser |

Use same material as deck |
Use the same material for the risers as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the risers. |
Stringer |

Use same material as deck |
Use the same material for the stringers as the deck surface. Uncheck this option to use a different material for the stringers. |
