Selecting Points

      

Points must be selected before they can be moved, scaled, or rotated. Points can be selected in several different ways, depending on what is most convenient for the current situation.

Before points can be selected, the Edit Points button must be pressed to turn on point editing mode. See Editing Points for more information.

Selecting Points

To select points one at a time:

1.   Move your mouse over the point you want to select, and click the left mouse button. The point will turn red to indicate it is selected.

2.   If you want to select additional points, hold the Shift key while clicking on the other points you want to be selected.

To select points using a selection rectangle:

1.   Adjust your view until all of the points you want to select are clearly visible.

2.   Click and hold the left mouse button, then move your mouse and draw a rectangle around the points you want to select.

To select all points in the object:

1.   From the Edit menu, click Select all. Or, you can press the A key.

2.   Every point in the current object will be selected.

To select a line or curve segment:

1.   Move your mouse over the line that connects the two points you want to select.

2.   Click the line to select the points.

Deselecting Points

To deselect points one at a time:

1.   Move your mouse over the red point that you want to deselect, and click the left mouse button. The point will turn yellow to indicate it is not selected.

2.   If you want to deselect additional points, hold the Shift key while clicking on the other points you want to be deselected.

To deselect all points:

1.   From the Edit menu, click Select None. Or, you can press the N key.

- OR -

1.   Move your mouse over an empty area of your design that does not contain any points.

2.   Click the left mouse button to deselect all points.

Any selection change can be undone by clicking Undo or pressing Ctrl+Z.

Points that are not selected are yellow, while selected points are red.
