This guide will show you how to add a Google Maps image as an overlay using the Google Maps Import Wizard.
To get started, click Tools under the Menu Bar, and then click Google Maps Import Wizard.
A dialog box will appear as seen in the image below. Click Next to begin the wizard.
You will be prompted to start Google Maps to locate the map address. Click Start Google Maps.
Type in the desired address in the space provided, and then click Search.
Using the middle mouse wheel, you can zoom in and out as needed. Additionally, you are able to use the slider tool found in the upper left corner of the screen. Once you have a clear view of the property, click Specify Region.
Left click and drag to move the points and outline the border of your property. To insert a new point, Left click and drag one of the light gray points seen in the image below. Note how we have added additional points to define the curve in the lower left corner. Once you have completed adjusting the outline, click Import.
Next, you will be asked to set the destination file name. Click Set File Name, save the imported map under your desired file name, and then click Next.
You are now at the end of the wizard. If you would like to make any revisions to previous steps, click the Back button. If you are happy with the selections, click Finish to import the map image into your landscape design.
