Using Save and Load Shape Commands
The Save and Load
shape commands make it easy to add edging to a shape that already exists in
your landscape design. The edging in the above example was added using this
To add edging using the Save and Load Shape
1. Select the region or
other object around which you want to add edging.
2. Click the shape
options button (to the right of the Edit Points button) and select
Save shape from the drop down menu.
3. Enter a file name
for the new shape. You can use any name you want. However, in cases such as this
where you will probably only want to use it once, we suggest using a name such
as "temp", and overwriting the old file (if any) with the new one. This will
help prevent your shape directory from getting cluttered with files.
4. Click the Add
5. Click the shape
options button and select Load shape from the drop down menu.
6. That's it! Your edging will be
created and perfectly fit the perimeter of the region.
Customizing the Plan View
Edging can have a unique appearance in the plan view. This
is useful, for example, when you want the plan view to have a hand-drawn look.
To do this, check the Custom appearance in each view option. Two tabs
will appear: Plan and Perspective. These allow you to customize how the edging
appears in each view. Uncheck the option if you want the edging to use the same
material in both views. You can change this option at any time.
