Pool Light Properties
The properties used to modify a pool light are located to
the right of the screen when your light is selected. Only some of these
properties can be adjusted right before adding the light to your landscape, but
all of the properties can be adjusted after it has been added. Below is a
description of each available property in the order that they appear in the
software.

The Model property determines the type of
pool light. To change the light model, click the picture that shows the
current light. |
Model options |
The appearance of the pool light can be modified by
clicking the small button that appears to the right of the light
image. |
Elevation |
The Elevation property determines the
distance of the pool light from the ground. To change the elevation, move
the Elevation slider or type a value in the text field. |
Range |
The Range property determines the distance
that the pool light will shine, effectively controlling the strength of
the light. To change the light’s influence, move the Range slider or type
a value in the text field. |
Beam angle |
The Beam angle property determines the width
of the pool light’s influence. To adjust the light’s influence, move the
Beam angle slider or type a value in the text field. |
Color |
The Color property determines the
illumination color and brightness. For example, a blue color would cause
the light to cast blue light during a walkthrough. To change the light’s
color, click the small color swatch that displays light’s current
color. |
Show area of influence |
The Show area of
influence property determines whether or not a helper is added while
in the Top-Down or Perspective views. This helper is used to view the pool
light’s range and angle of influence. To enable or disable the lighting
helper, click the Show area of influence checkbox. |
Use ray tracing for accurate shadows |
The Use ray tracing for accurate shadows
property determines the accuracy and quality of shadows that are created
by the selected pool light in an evening walkthrough. Ray tracing provides
higher quality, but are more time consuming to calculate. To toggle ray
tracing, click the Use ray tracing for accurate shadows

pool light is. To adjust the light’s height, move the Height slider or
type a value in the text field. |
Rotate about X |
The Rotate about X property
determines the angle of the pool light about its X axis. If your view is
facing north, this will rotate the light forward or backward. To rotate
the light, move the Rotate about X slider or type a value in the text
field. |
Rotate about Y |
The Rotate about Y property
determines the angle of the pool light about its Y axis. If your view is
facing north, this will rotate the light left or right as if it was
sitting upon a pottery wheel. To rotate the light, move the Rotate about Y
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Rotate about Z |
The Rotate about Z property
determines the angle of the pool light about its Z axis. If your view is

about Z slider or type a value in the text field. |
Scale evenly |
The Scale evenly property determines
if the pool light is stretched or not when you adjust the width, depth, or
height. If you wish to simply enlarge the light, then keep the Scale
evenly option checked. If you wish to stretch the light in any direction,
then uncheck the Scale evenly option. |
Enable enhanced surface detail |
The Enable enhanced surface detail property
determines whether or not the light material will have increased detail
when viewed up close. |
