|
Plant Properties
The properties used to modify a plant are located to the
right of the screen when your plant is selected. Only some of these properties
can be adjusted right before adding the plant to your landscape, but all of the
properties can be adjusted after it has been added. Below is a description of
each available property in the order that they appear in the software.

Description |
Plant |
The Plant property determines the type of
plant. To change the plant, click the image that shows the current
plant. |
Plant options |
The appearance of the plant can be modified by
clicking the small button that appears to the right of the plant’s
picture. |
Elevation |
The Elevation property determines the
distance of the plant from the ground. To change the elevation, move the
Elevation slider or type a value in the text field. |
Flip horizontal |
The Flip horizontal property
determines whether the plant is inverted from left to right. To flip the
picture horizontally, click the Flip horizontal checkbox. Only plant
pictures can be flipped. |
Tilt angle |
The Tilt angle property can be used to
rotate the plant from a vertical to horizontal position. This is useful
for rotating pictures of plants that were taken from above, such as shrubs
and ground cover. |
Flip vertical |
The Flip vertical property determines
whether the plant is inverted from top to bottom. To flip the plant
vertically, click the Flip vertical checkbox. Only plant pictures can be
flipped. |
Rotate to face viewer |
The Rotate to face viewer property
determines whether the plant automatically turns to face your view,
regardless how of you look at it. To toggle automatic plant rotation,
click the Rotate to face viewer checkbox. |
Ignore growth limits |
The Ignore growth limits property determines
whether the plant can be enlarged past its maximum size. To toggle this
size limitation, click the Ignore growth limits
checkbox. |

Description |
Plant names |
The Plant names property displays the common name
of the plant on the first line, and the botanical name of the plant on the
second line. The botanical plant name is displayed in italics.
To change one or both of these names for the
currently selected plant, click the options button on the top-right of
this property and enter the desired names. Or, to create a new plant which
you can use in other landscape designs, To create a new plant based on the
selected plant, click the Create a Custom Plant button. For more

Starting age |
The Starting age of the plant determines the
current size of the plant. Note that the starting age does not include any
age added through the Plant Growth
setting. To change the plant’s starting age, move the Starting age slider
or enter a value in the text field. |
Plant growth |
The Plant growth property displays the
current Plant Growth
setting. |
Current age |
The Current age property displays the sum of
the plant’s starting age and the current Plant Growth setting. |
Mature age |
The Mature age property displays the
age at which the plant will reach its mature height. |
Current height |
The Current height property displays the
height of the plant at its current age. |
Mature height |
The Mature height property displays the
height that the plant will reach when it reaches its mature age. |
Planting zones |
The Planting zones property displays the zones that
the plant will thrive in. To view a map of these zones, click Tools
and Plant Hardiness Zones.
Note: Plant hardiness zones do not apply to
annuals. |
Create a Custom Plant |
The Create a Custom Plant property is used
to create new plant variations based on the currently selected plant. To
create a new plant based on the selected plant, click the Create a Custom
Plant button. For more information, see Plant Creation Wizard.

UltraRes Plants®. |
