Custom Model Properties
The properties used to modify a custom model are located to
the right of the screen when your custom model is selected. Below is a
description of each available property in the order that they appear in the
software.
Model |
Description |
Elevation |
The Elevation property determines the
distance of the custom model from the ground. To change the elevation,
move the Elevation slider or type a value in the text field. |
Scale about X |
The Scale about X property determines the
custom model’s width. To change the width of the model, move the Scale
about X slider or type a value in the text field. Scale about X will
simply shrink or enlarge the object if the Scale evenly property is
checked. |
Scale about Y |
The Scale about Y property determines the
custom model’s height. To change the height of the model, move the Scale
about Y slider or type a value in the text field. Scale about Y will
simply shrink or enlarge the object if the Scale evenly property is
checked. |
Scale about Z |
The Scale about Z property determines the
custom model’s length. To change the length of the model, move the Scale
about Z slider or type a value in the text field. Scale about Z will
simply shrink or enlarge the object if the Scale evenly property is
checked. |
Rotate about X |
The Rotate about X property
determines the angle of the custom model about its X axis. If your view is
facing north, this will rotate the model forward or backward. To rotate
the model, move the Rotate about X slider or type a value in the text
field. |
Rotate about Y |
The Rotate about Y property
determines the angle of the custom model about its Y axis. If your view is
facing north, this will rotate the model left or right as if it was
sitting upon a pottery wheel. To rotate the model, move the Rotate about Y
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Rotate about Z |
The Rotate about Z property
determines the angle of the custom model about its Z axis. If your view is
facing north, this will rotate the model left or right as if it was
sitting upon the face of a clock. To rotate the model, move the Rotate
about Z slider or type a value in the text field. |
Mirror X |
The Mirror X property determines the left to
right direction of the model. To invert the model, click the Mirror X
checkbox. |
Mirror Y |
The Mirror Y property determines the top to
bottom direction of the model. To invert the model, click the Mirror Y
checkbox. |
Mirror Z |
The Mirror Z property determines the front
to back direction of the model. To invert the model, click the Mirror Z
checkbox. |
Scale evenly |
The Scale evenly property determines
if the custom model is stretched or not when you use the Scale
about X, Y, or Z options. If you wish to
simply enlarge the model, then keep the Scale evenly option checked. If
you wish to stretch the model in any direction, then uncheck the Scale
evenly option. |
Material |
Description |
Material |
The Material property determines what type
of surface the custom model will use. To change the material, click the
small image that displays the current material. |
Material options |
The appearance of the custom model can be modified
by clicking the small button that appears to the right of the material
image. |
Shader |
The Shader property determines the effect of
the model’s material. To change the effect, click the Shader drop-down
menu. |
Set mapping |
The Set mapping property determines how the
material is applied to the custom model. To reset the model’s mapping and
to expose additional options, click the Set mapping checkbox. |
Enable enhanced surface detail |
The Enable enhanced surface detail property
determines whether or not the material will have increased detail when
viewed up close. |
Width |
The Width property determines the size of
the material from left to right. To stretch the material from left to
right, move the Width slider or enter a value in the text field. This
property is only available when Set mapping is checked. |
Height |
The Height property determines the size of
the material from top to bottom. To stretch the material from top to
bottom, move the Height slider or enter a value in the text field. This
property is only available when Set mapping is checked. |
Angle |
The Angle property determines the rotation
angle of the material. To change the material angle, move the Angle
slider or type a value in the text field. This property is only available
when Set mapping is checked. |
Offset X |
The Offset X property determines the
material’s left and right orientation. To shift the material left or
right, move the Offset X slider or enter a value in the text field. This
property is only available when Set mapping is checked. |
Offset Y |
The Offset Y property determines the
material’s forward and backward orientation. To shift the material forward
or backward, move the Offset Y slider or enter a value in the text field.
This property is only available when Set mapping is
checked. |
Flip horizontal |
The Flip horizontal property determines the
direction of the material from left to right. To invert the material from
left to right, click the Flip horizontal checkbox. This property is only
available when Set mapping is checked. |
Flip vertical |
The Flip vertical property determines the
direction of the material from top to bottom. To invert the material from
top to bottom, click the Flip horizontal checkbox. This property is only
available when Set mapping is checked. |
Enable enhanced surface detail |
The Enable enhanced surface detail property
determines whether or not the material will have increased detail when
viewed up close. |
