Adding Railing

Use the Railing tool to add standalone railing to patios,
porches, walkways, and other areas of your landscape design. Railing can be
straight or curved, stepped or angled, and a wide variety of post, baluster, and
cap styles are included. You can use the built-in styles and even save your own
custom styles.
To add railing:
1.
Click the Add Railing button, which is found near the top of the screen
under the Building tab.
2.
Draw the outline of the railing by clicking the left mouse button to add points.
Press the Backspace key to remove the last point added, and press the
Esc key to cancel. If you would like to input the distance and angle
manually, place at least one point and then press the Enter key.
3.
To finish drawing the railing, right-click to place the last point.
The railing in the following design was added using the
Railing tool:

Creating Curved Railing
The railing curvature can be edited at any point, allowing
you to create accurate bends and rounded corners. For details on how to
manipulate the points of a shape, see Editing
Points.
Tips:
•
Railing is usually easiest to add while in the Top-Down view.
•
Railing posts will automatically appear at each point. You can add and
remove posts as needed by simply adding and removing control points.
• For
stepped railing, click the Stepped option. The railing will then be
constructed in horizontal sections, with elevation changes occurring only at the
control points.
