Adding a Fence Gate

The Fence Gate object is used to add a variety of different
wooden and vinyl fence gates to fences in your design. Each gate can be up to
ten feet wide, and can be displayed in an open or closed position.
To add a new gate:
1.
Select the Perspective view (not required but recommended).
2.
Adjust your view until you can clearly see the fence that you wish to add a gate
to.
3.
Click the Add Fence Gate button, which is found near the top of the
screen under the Building tab.
4.
Click the picture of the default fence gate that appears to the right of the
screen, and then select the fence gate you would like to use from the menu that
appears.
5.
Click on the part of the fence in your design that you wish to add the gate
to.

To open a gate:
1.
Click the gate in your design to select it.
2.
Set the Open angle property to any desired gate angle.

To move an existing gate:
1.
Click your gate to select it.
2.
Click the gate again, but this time hold down the left mouse button as you move
the mouse to reposition the gate. Note that a gate cannot be moved to a
different fence object.
Tips:
• If
you wish to place multiple gates of the same type, click on the Add
Fence Gate button, hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, and then
simply click once for each gate you wish to add.
• Gate
placement can be difficult if grid snap is enabled because your gate will move
to the grid intersections as you attempt to add it. You can toggle the grid
snapping off by pressing Ctrl + G on your keyboard. For
more information, see Snap Settings.
• Fence
gates can be added only to fences that are already in your design; gates can not
be added to other objects.
• The
material of the fence gate will automatically match the material of the fence
that it is attached to.
• The
height of the fence gate is automatically set to the board height of the fence
it is attached to.
