Ramp Properties
The properties used to modify a ramp are located to the
right of the screen when your ramp is selected. Only some of these properties
can be adjusted right before adding the ramp to your landscape, but all of the
properties can be adjusted after it has been added. Below is a description of
each available property in the order that they appear in the software.
Material |
Description |
Material |
The Material property determines what type
of surface the ramp will use. To change the material, click the small
image that displays the current material. |
Material options |
The appearance of the ramp can be modified by
clicking the small button that appears to the right of the material
image. |
Size |
The Size property determines the scale of
the ramp material. For example, if the ramp has a brick material, then the
Size slider will adjust the size of each brick. |
Angle |
The Angle property determines the rotation
angle of the ramp material. To change the material angle, move the
Angle slider or type a value in the text field. |
Offset X |
The Offset X property determines the ramp
material’s left and right orientation. To shift the material left or
right, move the Offset X slider or enter a value in the text
field. |
Offset Y |
The Offset Y property determines the ramp
material’s forward and backward orientation. To shift the material forward
or backward, move the Offset Y slider or enter a value in the text
field. |
Shininess |
The Shininess property determines how glossy
the material will appear. To change the appearance of the material, click
the Shininess drop-down menu and select from the following options:
Default, Off, Low, Medium, or High. The shininess property only affects
the appearance of the material while in the 3D view. |
Enable enhanced surface detail |
The Enable enhanced surface detail property
determines whether or not the ramp will have increased detail when viewed
up close. |
Options |
Description |
Elevation |
The Elevation property determines the
distance of the ramp from the ground. To change the elevation, move the
Elevation slider or type a value in the text field. |
Rotate about X |
The Rotate about X property
determines the angle of the ramp about its X axis. If your view is facing
north, this will rotate the ramp forward or backward. To rotate the ramp,
move the Rotate about X slider or type a value in the text
field. |
Rotate about Y |
The Rotate about Y property
determines the angle of the ramp about its Y axis. If your view is facing
north, this will rotate the ramp left or right as if it was sitting upon a
pottery wheel. To rotate the ramp, move the Rotate about Y slider or type
a value in the text field. |
Rotate about Z |
The Rotate about Z property
determines the angle of the ramp about its Z axis. If your view is facing
north, this will rotate the ramp left or right as if it was sitting upon
the face of a clock. To rotate the ramp, move the Rotate about Z slider or
type a value in the text field. |
Width |
The Width property determines the size of
the ramp from left to right. To adjust the ramp width, move the Width
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Length |
The Length property determines the depth of
the ramp from front to back. To adjust the ramp depth, move the Length
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Height 1 |
The Height 1 property determines how tall
one end of the ramp is. To adjust the ramp height, move the Height 1
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Height 2 |
The Height 2 property determines how tall
one end of the ramp is. To adjust the ramp height, move the Height 2
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Information |
Description |
Angle |
The Angle property displays the steepness of
the ramp in degrees. |
Grade |
The Grade property displays the ramp’s angle
of incline as a percentage. |
Area |
The Area property displays the total surface
size of the ramp in square feet or meters. |
Volume |
The Volume property displays the total
displacement of the ramp in cubic feet or meters. |
