Plant Legend Properties
The properties used to modify a Plant Legend object are
located to the right of the screen when your legend is selected. These
properties can either be adjusted right before adding the plant legend to your
landscape or after it has been added. Below is a description of each available
property in the order that they appear in the software.
Columns |
Description |
Current column |
The Current column property determines which
column will be affected when you change the other properties in the
Columns group. |
Enabled |
The Enabled property determines if the
current column is enabled. |
Label |
The Label property is the column's label.
You can override the default label by typing in a new one if
desired. |
Move Up, Move Down |
The Move Up and Move Down buttons
adjust the position of the current column. |
Options |
Description |
Columns |
The Columns property determines how many
vertical columns the plant legend should display. To change the amount of
columns, move the Columns slider or enter a value in the text
field. |
Symbol scale |
The Symbol scale property determines the
size of the symbols that are added to the plant legend. To change the
symbol size, move the Symbol scale slider or enter a value in the text
field. This property will not be available unless the Add symbol
property is checked. |
Sort by |
The Sort by property determines the order in
which the plants in the plant legend are listed. To change the ordering
priority of the plant legend, click the Sort by drop-down menu. |
Line Style |
The Line Style property determines the
appearance of the plant legend’s outer edges and divider lines. To change
the line style, click the Line Style button and select the style
you wish to use from the dialog that appears. |
Export to Excel |
The Export to Excel property is used to save
the currently selected plant legend as an “XLS” spreadsheet file. To
export the plant legend, click the Export to Excel button.
Note: You can edit the plant legend in Excel and
add the resulting spreadsheet to your landscape design using the Embedded Object tool. However, any
future plant changes will not be automatically updated, so you will need
to update the spreadsheet manually from that point
on. |

The Text property determines the text that
appears in the top bar of the plant legend. To change the text, click the
small button that appears to the right of the current text. To eliminate
the top bar of the plant legend, simply delete the title text. |
Font |
The Font property determines the style of
lettering that the title text will use. To change the font, click the
drop-down menu and select the font of your choice. Any TrueType font that
is installed on your computer can be used. |
Style |
The Style property determines whether the
text style is italic, bold, bold and italic, or regular. To change the
style, click the drop-down menu and select the style you wish to
use. |
Text color |
The Text color property determines
the color of the title text. To change the text color, click the small
color swatch that displays the current color. |
Background color |
The Background color property
determines the color of the top bar of the plant legend. To change the
background color, click the small color swatch that displays the current
color. |
