Overlay Properties
The properties used to modify an Overlay object are located
to the right of the screen when your Overlay is selected. These properties can
either be adjusted right before adding the Overlay to your landscape or after it
has been added. Below is a description of each available property in the order
that they appear in the software.
Material |
Description |
Custom appearance in each view |
The Custom appearance in
each view option determines whether the Overlay will appear
differently in the Plan view than in the Perspective view. If this option
is unchecked, the Overlay will appear the same in both views. |
Plan |
The Plan tab contains properties that affect
the appearance of the Overlay in the Plan view. This tab will not be
available unless the Custom appearance in each view option is
checked. |
Perspective |
The Perspective tab contains properties that
affect the appearance of the Overlay in the Perspective view. This tab
will not be available unless the Custom appearance in
each view option is checked. |
Picture |
The Picture property determines which image
is used in the Overlay. To change the picture, click the small image that
displays the current picture being used. |
Picture options |
The appearance of the Overlay can be adjusted by
clicking on the small button that appears to the right of the small image
of the current Overlay. |
Transparency |
The Transparency property determines the
opacity of the Overlay. To change the Overlay opacity, move the
Transparency slider or type a value in the text field. |
Line style |
The Line Style property determines the
appearance of the outline of the Overlay in the Plan view. To change the
line style, click the Line Style button and select the style you
wish to use from the dialog that appears. Note that a line style is only
available when the Custom appearance in each view option is
checked. |
Options |
Description |
Width |
The Width property determines the size of
the Overlay from left to right. To adjust the Overlay width, move the
Width slider or type a value in the text field. |
Length |
The Length property determines the size of
the Overlay from top to bottom. To adjust the Overlay length, move the
Length slider or type a value in the text field. |
Angle |
The Angle property determines the rotation
angle of the Overlay in degrees. To change the Overlay angle, move the
Angle slider or type a value in the text field. |
Scale evenly |
The Scale evenly property determines
if the Overlay is stretched or not when you adjust the width or length. If
you wish to simply enlarge the Overlay, then keep the Scale evenly option
checked. If you wish to stretch the Overlay in any direction, then uncheck
the Scale evenly option. |
Use compass angle |
When enabled, this option causes the Overlay
rotation angle to automatically match the compass angle. For example, this
is useful if you have imported a map and want it to always match the
current North
direction. |
Show in Realtime Walkthrough |
The Show in Realtime Walkthrough property
determines if the Overlay is displayed during a Realtime Walkthrough. To
change whether the Overlay is shown during a walkthrough, click the Show
in Realtime Walkthrough checkbox to toggle it. |
Resize using Known Distance |
The Resize using Known Distance property is
used to size the overlay based on a real world dimension. For example, if
the overlay was of a pond design, and you knew the length of the pond,
then the pond length would be the known dimension that you would input. To
size the overlay, click the Resize using Known Distance button.
