Adding a Road

Realtime Landscaping Architect includes powerful support
for roads and sidewalks, allowing your designs to extend beyond your client’s
property line for increased realism and attention to detail. The Road object is
used to create a road of any shape and size that may contain sidewalks and
curbing.
To add a road:
1.
Click the Add Road button that is found near the top of the screen
under the Road tab.
2.
Modify the Width property under
the Options bar to set the road’s width.
3.
Draw the road by clicking the left mouse button to add points. Press the
Backspace key to remove the last point added, or press the Esc key
to cancel. If you would like to input the distance and angle manually, place at
least one point and then press the Enter key.
4.
To finish drawing the road, right-click to place the last point.
In the picture below, a street and sidewalk was added to a
landscape design using the Road object.

Changing the Shape
A road’s shape can be easily modified after it has been
added to your landscape design. To change the shape of a road, select the road
and click the Edit Points button. By adding points, road bends,
sharp turns, and even intersections can be accomplished. See Editing Points for more information.
Tips:
• Roads
can be added in either the Plan or Perspective view, but are easiest to add in
the Plan view.
• Once
a road is placed, full control can be gained over the shape of the road by
clicking the Edit Points button.
•
Alternately, pre-built road pieces can be instantly placed in your
landscape design using the Road Accessory
tool.
•
Sidewalks and curbing can also be added separately. See Adding a Sidewalk and Adding a Curb for details.
