Adding a House Light

Porch and garage lights of many different styles can be
added to your house. When viewing your landscaping in a Realtime Walkthrough at
sunrise, sunset, and evening, Realtime Landscaping Architect will automatically
illuminate any lights you have added.
To add a house light:
1.
Select the Perspective view (not required but recommended).
2.
Adjust your view until you can clearly see the wall of the house you wish to add
the light to.
3.
Click the Add House Light button, which is found at the top of the screen
under the Building tab.
4.
Click the picture of the default light that appears to the right of the screen,
and then select the light you would like to use from the menu that appears.
5.
Click the wall you wish to add the light to.

Tips:
• House
lights can be added in both the Plan and Perspective views, but are easier to
add in the Perspective view.
•
Lights will only illuminate during a Realtime Walkthrough when the time
of day has been set to sunrise, sunset, or evening. See Environment Settings for more
information.
• House
lights are specially designed to attach to houses, and can only be placed on
house walls. If you wish to add a landscape light, see Adding a Landscape Light for information on
adding lights that can be placed anywhere.
• House
light placement can be difficult if grid snap is enabled because your light will
move to the grid intersections as you attempt to add it. You can toggle the grid
snapping off by pressing Ctrl + G on your keyboard. For
more information, see Snap Settings.
• House
lights can be scaled and stretched to change their shape; for more information
see Scaling Objects and Rotating Objects. Note that changing the size or
shape of a light does not affect its brightness.
• To
modify the brightness of a house light, change the light’s color to a darker
shade.
