Accent Strip Properties
The properties used to modify an Accent Strip are located
to the right of the screen when your Accent Strip is selected. These properties
can either be adjusted right before adding the strip to your landscape or after
is has been added. Below is a description of each available Accent Strip
property in the order that they appear in the software:
Material |
Description |
Orientation follows contour |
The Orientation follows contour property
determines whether the accent strip material will bend to follow the path
of the accent strip, or if the material will be applied without regard to
the shape of the strip. To toggle the material orientation, click the
Orientation follows contour checkbox. |
Custom appearance in each view |
The Custom appearance in
each view option determines whether the accent strip will
appear differently in the Plan view than in the Perspective view. If this
option is unchecked, the accent strip will appear the same in both
views. |
Plan |
The Plan tab contains properties that affect the
appearance of the accent strip in the Plan view. This tab will not be
available unless the Custom appearance in each view option is
checked. |
Perspective |
The Perspective tab contains properties that
affect the appearance of the accent strip in the Perspective view. This
tab will not be available unless the Custom appearance
in each view option is checked. |
Material |
The Material property determines what type of
surface the accent strip will use. To change the material, click the small
image that displays the current material. |
Material options |
The appearance of the accent strip can be modified by
clicking the small button that appears to the right of the material
image. |
Size |
The Size property determines the scale of
the accent strip material. For example, if the strip has a brick material,
then the Size slider will adjust the size of each brick. |

The Angle property determines the rotation angle
of the accent strip material. To change the material angle, move the
Angle slider or type a value in the text field. |
Offset X |

strip material’s left and right orientation. To shift the material left or
right, move the Offset X slider or enter a value in the text

The Offset Y property determines the accent
strip material’s forward and backward orientation. To shift the material
forward or backward, move the Offset Y slider or enter a value in the text
field. |
Shininess |
The Shininess property determines how glossy the
material will appear. To change the appearance of the material, click the
Shininess drop-down menu and select from the following options:
Default, Off, Low, Medium, or High. The shininess property only affects
the appearance of the material while in the 3D view. |
Enable enhanced surface detail |
The Enable enhanced surface detail property
determines whether or not the accent strip will have increased detail when
viewed up close. |
Options |
Description |
Max Elevation |
The Max elevation property determines
the surface that the accent strip is applied to. For example if the accent
strip is placed partially or completely on top of a patio, and the Max
elevation property is set to a lower elevation than the patio, then the
accent strip will apply to the terrain below the patio, and ignore the
patio itself. However, if the Max elevation property is set to a higher
elevation than the patio, then the accent strip will ignore the terrain
and only apply to the patio itself.
To change the elevation, move the Max elevation
slider or type a value in the text field. |
Width |
The Width property determines how thick the
accent strip is. To change the accent strip width, move the Width slider
or enter a value in the text field. |
Closed |
The Closed property determines whether the
accent strip’s shape is open or closed. To change the state of the accent
strip’s shape, click the Closed checkbox to toggle it. |
Switch sides |
The Switch sides property determines on
which side of the defining line the accent strip is created. To change the
placement of the accent strip, click the Switch sides checkbox. |
Add border |
The Add border property determines whether a
solid color outline is created around the accent strip. To toggle the
outline, click the Add border checkbox. |
Border width |
The Border width property determines the
thickness of the accent strip outline. To change the accent strip border
width, move the Width slider or enter a value in the text field. The
Border width property will not be functional unless the Add border
checkbox is enabled. |
Border color |
The Border color property determines the
color of the accent strip outline if the Add border checkbox is
enabled. To change the color of the border, click the small swatch that
displays the current border color. |
